According to the Ferris website, all classes will be cancelled on the Big Rapids campus Thursday, Jan. 31, due to the dangerously cold temperatures in the forecast.
According to the National Weather Service, there is a wind chill warning in place in Mecosta County until 1 p.m. Thursday.
In addition, as a result of the cold temperatures, Big Rapids is under a run water advisory, according to an article by WOOD TV in Grand Rapids. Residents should keep one faucet running in their home, allowing a stream of water to flow through the pipes to prevent them from freezing.
The university cancelled classes Monday, Jan. 28, as a result of poor road conditions due to the snow, and Wednesday, Jan. 30, as a result of the frigid temperatures. Classes were in session Tuesday, Jan. 29.
