Ferris classes are closed today due to adverse weather conditions.
Referred to by FSU students as the “snowpocalypse,” the blizzard terrorizing the Midwest has many students choosing to stay warm rather than commute to their hometown cities.
Though classes are canceled, the campus is attempting to keep its university functions running. Ferris plans to keep the Rock Cafe, the Market and Westview open, along with the Rankin Student Center. The university reports that only important personnel providing critical functions should report to work. All others are not expected to report to work.
Ferris-Grand Rapids and Kendall College of Art and Design are also closed.
Ferris is expecting to reopen Feb. 3. For more information, contact the FSU information hotline at -1-800-519-3425.
