The Ferris State women’s basketball team won a pair of one-point games over the weekend in dramatic fashion.
The Bulldogs defeated Lake Superior State 60-59 after sophomore Kelsey DeNoyelles hit two free throws with 35 seconds left in the game. The Bulldogs shot 51 percent from the floor, while holding the Lakers to just 31.6 percent shooting.
On Saturday, Freshman Kylie Muntz hit a game-winning three-pointer at the buzzer to defeat Saginaw Valley State 61-60. The Bulldogs trailed by 13 in the second half, but rallied with 24 points in games’ final 10 minutes.
Ferris improved to 4-8 overall and 3-4 in the conference this season. The Bulldogs travel to Allendale tomorrow to battle rival Grand Valley State. The team dropped its first contest against the Lakers 57-43 earlier this season.
