Sex in the City Part II

There will be a presentation to raise awareness of HIV and AIDS on Dec. 1 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Rankin Center Dome Room. Maria Davis, a specialist on the topic, will be speaking. Davis has appeared on BET and MTV and has received awards for her efforts in informing others about the virus. The event is presented by You Beautiful Black Women and Alpha Phi Alpha. Shoot for Smiles Basketball Tournament

On Dec. 2, a three-on-three basketball tournament will be held at the Student Rec Center beginning at 6 p.m. There is room for 16 teams to compete in the tournament. Registration is open. The early registration fee is $40 or $45 at the door. Proceeds will go to the Smile Train and AdGroup. To register, sign up at the Rec Center or at the sign-up tables that will be in the IRC on Dec. 1 and 2. The event is presented by the AdGroup of the AAF. Speaker Linda Sherwood

English professor Linda Sherwood will be speaking on Dec. 2 at 11 a.m. in STR 130. Sherwood will discuss her work “Why Teachers Should Blog.” Light refreshments will be provided. Cheer on Children Dodgeball Tournament

On Dec. 5 in the Student Rec Center, there will be a dodgeball tournament to benefit the Helen Devos Children’s Hospital Foundation between 2 and 4 p.m. The registration fee is $25 per team. Holiday Jazz Band and Choir Concert

On Dec. 7 the Ferris State Jazz Band and Concert Choir will be putting on a Holiday Concert at 8 p.m. in the Big Rapids High School Auditorium. Admission is free and everyone is welcome.
