Freezing for a Cause
Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. Zeta Beta Chapter and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Zeta Rho will brave cold conditions to help feed and clothe those in need.
Both Ferris student organizations will be in the campus quad collecting canned goods and donations of clothing to benefit people in need in the Big Rapids community. The event is on Feb. 8 at 9 p.m. and continues to midnight. Donated canned goods and clothes will be distributed to Woman’s Information Services Inc. and Project Starburst. Organizers said last year’s Freezing for a Cause event received four bags of clothes and about two boxes of canned goods. For more information, visit the group’s Freezing for a Cause Facebook page.
MYHOUSING
The Office of Housing and Residence Life is proud to announce Adirondack Solutions’ MYHOUSING website.
Through MYHOUSING, both new and returning students will be able to experience a fully-online housing selection. Beginning late February, by navigating a four step process, students will be able to read and electronically sign their housing contracts and pay their housing contract guarantee. Students will also be able to request specific rooms, buildings, and roommates. They will also be able to select their desired meal plans. MYHOUSING will allow students to have full control of selecting specific rooms and suites or can randomly assign them based on provided student preferences.
Students will access MYHOUSING via their MyFSU account and the academics and services tab. New Ferris students will be contacted in April through their MyFSU accounts to receive information regarding due dates for their housing contracts. Students are encouraged to check their Ferris email, MyFSU account and the Housing & Residence Life web page ferris.edu/housing for more information. Due to the fully-online housing options, students will no longer receive or utilize paper contracts.
Students, faculty and staff can contact the Office of Housing and Residence Life with questions at ext. 3745.
