Promotions in the PTM program/Racquet and Fitness Center

Derek Ameel, Director/Manager of the Professional Tennis Management Program and the FSU Racquet and Fitness Center, recently announced the promotions of Amy Nestle and Alex Palladino. Nestle is now the Assistant Manager and Activities Coordinator for the FSU Racquet and Fitness Center. Palladino, current FSU men’s and women’s head tennis coach, is now the Head Tennis Professional for the FSU Racquet and Fitness Center.

FSU women’s basketball team captured split in Ohio road trip

The FSU women’s basketball team earned a road split with a 69-56 over Ohio Dominican University following a 78-49 loss to Tiffin University to open GLIAC play. In Thursday’s game against Tiffin, sophomore guard Sarah DeShone paced the Bulldogs with 13 points. However, FSU could not overcome undefeated TU as the Dragons forced 24 Bulldog turnovers. Saturday, DeShone led FSU to its first conference victory of the season as she scored a game-high 18 points. Freshman forward Christina Branch notched a double-double with 16 points and a contest-best 10 rebounds for the Bulldogs. With the win over Ohio Dominican, FSU improved to 3-2 overall and 1-1 in GLIAC action.

Pair of FSU women’s volleyball players earned All-American honors

After leading the Bulldogs to the NCAA Division II Midwest Regional Semifinals and a league championship, senior outside hitter Ashley Huntey and senior libero Lisa Tobiczyk earned All-American recognition. Huntey garnered third-team honors while Tobiczyk was named honorable mention. With their selections, Huntey and Tobiczyk became the 12th and 13th individuals to receive All-American laurels in FSU volleyball history.

Toss a Toy at Friday’s hockey game against Notre Dame

Friday’s men’s ice hockey game against University of Notre Dame will feature the annual Teddy Bear Toss. Fans are encouraged to bring a new or gently used stuffed animal to the game and throw it onto the ice after the first Bulldog goal. The stuffed animals will be collected and donated to the Toys for Tots charity. Game time is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. at the Ewigleben Ice Arena.
