Innovation Unleashed

The Entrepreneurship Institute is putting on an event called “Innovation Unleashed” where students get a chance to present their five-minute business pitch while competing to win up to $750 to further their idea.

The event is set to take place April 11 at 6 p.m. in IRC 120. A $250 prize is being offered to the team that wins the audience’s choice award. Audience members are to vote for their favorite business idea.

Each audience member will receive a raffle ticket at the door and will be entered to win one of five $25 gift cards for attending. Winners will be drawn at the end of the competition. A $500 grand prize will be awarded along with $60 prizes for the first 10 teams to sign-up and compete.

Shakespeare Festival

The Shakespeare Festival is entirely student-organized and carried out with students who are primarily FSU English studies students. The festival is sponsored by a number of campus departments/divisions and over 100 high school students are expected to attend the event.

The event is set for Tuesday, April 17 at 11 a.m. in the North Quad. The rain alternative site is the West Campus Community Center. For additional information, contact G’ne Holt at holtg1@nullferris.edu.

Earth Day 2012

The City of Big Rapids is holding its 22nd Annual City-Wide Litter Pick-up along with a chance to win prizes.

The event is set to take place on Saturday, April 21 from 9-11 a.m. at Big Rapids City Hall, 226 N. Michigan Ave. The clean-up contest gives a $50 gift certificate to each of the top five groups and/or individuals who bring back the greatest number of full trash bags to the City Hall dumpster before 11 a.m. that day.
