Monster 5k Dash

The Ferris State Running club is hosting the second annual Monster 5k Dash on Friday, Oct. 26. The event will start in the north quad at 5 p.m.

Registration is $15 and includes a T-shirt. Half of the proceeds will go to the Colleges Against Cancer for Relay for Life. To register, visit the link active.com/running/big-rapids-mi/monster-dash-5k-2012.

Autumn aLive

We the Kings, American pop-punk band, will perform at the annual Autumn aLive event Nov. 1 in the Wink Arena.

Tickets are $10 for students and $20 for the public. The show begins at 7 p.m. and is sponsored by the Music Industry Management Association.

Financial literacy

On Oct. 27, Rachel (Ramsey) Cruze will visit Ferris to speak about financial literacy and best practices.

The event will be part of the Professional Career and Leadership Conference and will be in the Rankin Student Center Dome Room beginning at 5 p.m.

According to University Advancement and Marketing, “Because of her financial background, and with Ferris’ commitment to strengthening financial literacy among its students, university officials believe Cruze is a perfect speaker to address students and staff as a 5-Star campus event.”

Aspiring entrepreneurs

On Wednesday, Oct. 24, Entrepreneurship Institute will host an event as part of CoffeE-Connect, which is a series of social gatherings and networking opportunities for aspiring entrepreneurs.

The event will begin at 6 p.m. at Michigan Works West Central and cover the topic of Finance and Marketing.
