Volkswagen donations
Volkswagen recently donated a new vehicle, six engines and seven transmissions to the College of Engineering Technology’s School of Automotive and Heavy Equipment. The approximate cost of the donation is $56,000 and will benefit the 280 students included in the automotive program.
Hockey tailgate
On Friday, Feb. 1, there will be an event called “Tailgate on Ice.” Alumni and fans of Ferris are invited to the fifth annual tailgate, held from 5:30 to 7 p.m. The even will be hosted by the Alumni Association in the multi-purpose room at Ewigleben Sports Complex.
Tickets are $20, which include the tailgate, a game ticket and a parking pass. Tickets for season-ticket holders are $10. To register by phone, call the Alumni Office at (888) 378-3647. n
Festival of the Arts begins
On Feb. 1, the sixth annual Festival of the Arts will begin. The event will last until March 1 and will contain daily entertainment, educational and cultural events offered throughout Big Rapids and on campus.
An opening reception will be hosted by Artworks at 7 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 1.
