Kendall professor wins art education award

Cindy Todd, an associate professor and chair of the Art Education program at Ferris’ Kendall College of Art and Design, has received the prestigious National Art Education Student Chapter Sponsor Award of Excellence.

Todd was nominated by a student and will receive the award in March during the NAEA national convention in Fort Worth, Texas.

Ferris Student helped save young girl’s life

While working at Kentucky Fried Chicken, Tony Beck noticed a young girl choking on a chicken bone. Beck used skills he learned in a first-aid class to save the life of a young girl.

Beck is in Ferris’ recreation leadership and management program.

Ferris Foundation now accepting grant proposals

Ferris faculty and staff can request funding for projects that contribute to the university goals through The Ferris Foundation’s Exceptional Merit Grant Program.

Grant recipients will be chosen by the Foundation’s Gifts and Grants Committee, which consists of Foundation directors, faculty and staff members. The grant awards will be announced Thursday, April 18. The deadline for submissions of proposals is Thursday, Feb. 28.
