Pro-choice speaker visits Ferris

On Wednesday, Feb. 27, pro-choice speaker Lynn Paltrow will present “Reproductive Justice in the Age of Mass Incarceration.”

Paltrow is the founder and executive director of National Advocates for Pregnant Women. The event will begin at 7 p.m. in BUS 111. It is free and open to the public and will be followed by a Q&A session.

“Vagina Monologues”

This year will mark the 10th anniversary of the annual event “The Vagina Monologues.” The event is put on to raise awareness of violence against women.

It will begin at 7 p.m. on Friday, March 1 in the Williams Auditorium. Tickets are $10 and $5 for students with their ID. Tickets may be purchased at the door or online. Merchandise will also be available at the event for purchase. For more information on V-Day or “The Vagina Monologues,” visit vday.org.

Women’s workshop

On Thursday, Feb. 28, Laura Greenfield of Women’s Voices Worldwide will conduct a workshop and lecture at Ferris designed to empower women.

The event, “Lost Without My Voice: How Women Can Find the Powerful Speaker Within,” will take place at 7 p.m. in MCO 210. On the same day, an 11 a.m. workshop in the IRC will be available as well as a meet-and-greet at 6 p.m. in the Michigan College of Optometry atrium. The event is free and open to the public.
