A round-up of this week’s crime across the Ferris campus

MIP near Arts and Science

On March 23 at 1:40 a.m., officers encountered intoxicated subject near the Arts and Science Commons. The subject attempted to run but was apprehended and ticketed for MIP. The situation was referred to the Office of Student Conduct.

Marijuana complaint

On March 24 at 7:50 p.m., there was a report of a marijuana complaint in McNerney Hall. Two subjects were ticketed for MIP. One warrant request for possession was sent to the prosecutor’s office.

Accident in Lot 4

On March 24 at 3:45 p.m., there was a report of a hit and run accident in Lot 4.

Roommate dispute

On March 25 at 9 p.m., officers assisted in a roommate dispute at Cramer Hall.

Search warrant

On March 25 at 4:10 a.m., officers assisted city police in executing a search warrant in the city.

Car-tree collision

On March 26 at 4:20 p.m., there was a report of a vehicle striking a tree on Campus Drive near Lot 71.

No headlights

On March 27 at 11:30 p.m., officers stopped a vehicle on State Street for driving without headlights on. One subject was found to be in possession of marijuana. A warrant request was sent the prosecutor’s office, and the subject was referred to the Office of Student Conduct.

Custody dispute

On March 28 at 6:45 p.m., officers assisted the sheriff’s department at Finch Court in a child custody dispute.

No license

On March 29 at 3:50 a.m., officers stopped a vehicle on State Street near Perry Street for driving without headlights on. One subject was lodged in the county jail for not having a license.

Ticket Totals: From March 26 through April 1, the Department of Public Safety reported 220 violations. Each violator was ticketed for a total of $4,100. The actual amount depends on whether the ticket was paid, voided or reduced.
