Ferris’ junior pitcher Amy Dunleavy is off to a great start this season.
At the Bulldogs’ last home doubleheader against Lake Superior State, Dunleavy hit three home runs to help sweep the Anchors. Including grand slam to put the Bulldogs ahead.
Overall, Dunleavy had five hits and scored five runs, drawing four walks and had 14 total bases. The week of April 8 she was honored, for the first time this season, as GLIAC Player of the Week.
Dunleavy’s current earned run
average for the season is 3.85. Dunleavy also leads the Bulldogs with 22 runs scored, five home runs, and 23 runs batted in.
Dunleavy and the Bulldogs have five double headers left for the season, with possible make-up games due to poor weather conditions at the
beginning of the season.
Ferris softball will be on the road to Ohio this weekend for two double headers against Ohio Dominican on April 20 and Tiffin on April 21. n
