Women’s tennis adds to spring schedule
Initially the Bulldogs had a light spring 2014 schedule, which has now been extensively added to.
After finishing in seventh place in the GLIAC Tournament, the Bulldogs upped their strength of schedule by adding a Feb. 23 match at Western Michigan University.
They will follow that with a grueling road schedule in March, when they travel to Southern Indiana on Mar. 1, Indianapolis on Mar. 2, Valdosta State (Ga.) on Mar. 11, Flagler (St. Augustine, Fl.) Mar. 12, and Georgia College on Mar. 14.
There is currently only one match scheduled for April, which is in Big Rapids against Lewis (Ill.) on April 13.

The senior appeared in 76 career gamesand was on the pitch for over 1,600 minutes, starting 19 games in the 2013 season.

DeMartino stays out with “nagging” injury
Senior forward Justin DeMartino is dealing with an early season injury for the second straight year.
Though last year the injury required shoulder surgery, Coach Daniels is much more optimistic about the senior’s status.
“He could be back; if this were the playoffs, he could play tomorrow,” Daniels said after the 3-3 tie vs. Bowling Green on Nov. 15. “He’s got a nagging injury, that if we put him in tomorrow, it doesn’t heal till after Christmas.”
Daniels is known for his careful handling of injuries, especially early in the season, which indicates that DeMartino may spend even more time out of the line up.
Though the big-bodied senior was missed sorely against a physical Bowling Green team, Daniels may not even use him until mid-December when the Bulldogs travel to U-of-M and MSU.
