Chad McDonald #9

Freshman Forward

Hockey

McDonald has been a versatile member of an outstanding class of freshmen this season.

He is a mainstay on the penalty kill.McDonald made his major contribution on Jan. 11 vs. Michigan Tech when he assisted on a shorthanded goal.

McDonald sped down the left side and picked up the puck from sophomore forward Kenny Babinski in the neutral zone while killing off a penalty. He raced down the left side of the rink, and instead of cutting in front for a shot, he smartly wanded a pass across to Babinski, who put it high past Tech goaltender Jamie Phillips.

It was one of his two assists on the evening, which brought his season total to nine.

He also has five goals in his freshman season to this point, which good for 14 points. He is a +10 in the plus/minus department, and has played in 22 of the 23 contests Ferris has played in this season.

It is noted the game he did not play in was a 1-0 loss at Colgate; Ferris is 17-2-3 with him in the lineup.
