Hello Residential Bulldogs,

Welcome to Ferris State University. You’re in for an amazing year! I hope you are settling into the residence halls and suites nicely! My name is Kayla Garrett and I am the current Residence Hall Association president. I am a Junior in the Hospitality Management Program from Pinconning, Michigan.

The Residence Hall Association empowers students residing on campus by giving them a voice through leadership and networking opportunities. RHA strives to promote programming, socialization and diversity by supporting the on and off campus community. If you want change or a new program in your residence hall or suite, please come to our meetings. You have a voice and our meeting is the place to express your thoughts and concerns. We have a budget that we use strictly for making campus life better for you. RHA is planning many events this year such as our annual John and Bethany Schumaker Volleyball Tournament, “Bring Your Key, Skate For Free,” Sibs and Kids Weekend and the S.T.A.R.S. Leadership Conference. My executive board and I are creating a highly inclusive environment with events that are open for everyone.

I encourage you to join your hall council and get involved with your local residence hall’s governing body. In addition, join RHA’s general assembly meetings on Wednesdays at 9 p.m. in University Center room 217. Have a fantastic year and make it one to remember!
