Ferris women’s basketball may be out of contention for post-season play, but sophomore forward Rachel McInerney played like a champion on Saturday.
She was unstoppable leading Ferris women’s basketball past Lake Superior State 71-56 at home posting 32 points, 12 rebounds and four blocks in the Bulldogs’ fifth win of the season.
With no shot at the postseason, the Dawgs are playing for pride at this juncture and McInerney’s performance represented crimson and yellow pride.
McInerney has played well all season and her future looks bright. She is fifth in GLIAC scoring with 16.1 points per game, which also leads her team. In just her second year, she has established herself as a team leader.
After just two years, she can help write a more positive chapter in the book of Ferris women’s basketball next season.
