The artists have been announced and the weather seems to be cooperating (knock on wood) as North Quad is transformed into the site of this year’s Music Takes Action.
At 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 23, Ferris music industry management senior and hip hop artist Oseia Blanding will open the annual concert event. Blanding is known by many as OSHEA, his hip hop moniker.
Up next will be the Matchstrikes, a Big Rapids-based acoustic duo consisting of Ferris students Austin Benzing and Alex Fiolek.
Opening for the main act is St. Lucia, a New York-based pop band known for their song, “Dancing on Glass.”
Finally, Lupe Fiasco will take the stage as the main act. Fiasco is a hip hop artist best known for his songs “The Show Must Go On” and “Words I Never Said.”
Formerly Ferris Fest, Music Takes Action will benefit Musicians on Call, a charity that brings live music to healthcare facilities. The event will be held in the North Quad and is free to attend. Merchandise will be available to purchase before and during the event.
