Women’s soccer deadened by inclement weather
The Bulldogs had a chance to build on early-season momentum at home on Sunday against Northwood.
Ferris junior midfielder Stephanie Garland led the way against Madonna University with two second half goals against, while junior midfielder Taylor DiCicco and freshman defender Kate Kelly added a tally apiece.
Unfortunately, inclement weather cancelled play on Sunday. A light rain and temperatures below 60 degrees were enough to keep the Bulldogs off the field, much to multiple players’ displeasure.
The “They Often Cry Outreach” fundraiser was meant to be held during the Sunday match, which benefits needy children in the Caribbean.
Ferris will now be away from the friendly confines of Big Rapids until Oct. 4 when they face Walsh College.
Women’s golf finds bright spots despite 12th place finish
The women’s golf team finished 12th out of the 16 teams at the Mary Fossum Invitational at Michigan State University, but they did defeat a few Division I programs along the way.
Western Michigan and Oakland University both finished beneath Ferris on Sept. 14.
